For months now I have been apologizing for how long it is between blog posts. I guess it is just going to be that way. Since we started staying longer in one place and not doing as much sightseeing I have not been camera nuts. Over the last 7 years of traveling and blogging I have taken over 8,000 pictures. In the last 6 months I haven't taken 80. I guess I am coming to another change in life...
Actually, I can't take credit for these pictures. They were emailed to me by a friend from Lake Havasu City, Arizona. His name is Joe Hazlet and he has a great eye for picture taking. So, thanks Joe, I hope you don't mind that I have spread your name and pictures all over the internet.
Joe took these pictures over the New Year's holiday around Quartsite, Arizona. We were there too, but we left our ATV's in Indiana, so we could not go along on the rides with Joe and his group. Please enjoy these pictures and the story.
Here they go, errrrr, here they stop. Probably another GPS check, snack, potty break, or just a chance to talk about that cactus they just passed.
And here they go again, errrr, stop again.
Finally!!! A directional marker. Now everyone can agree which way to go.
Now for the explanation of the name of this blog. While everyone was eating their lunch, all sitting around on a variety of boulders, this fox popped up on a boulder, then jumped right into the lap of one of the party. This is no joke, the fox jumped into his lap, then jumped off onto the ground and just sauntered away. He was nonchalant enough about the whole thing that he provided ample opportunity for his picture to be taken.
And that evening, around the campfire (or maybe it was a slow cooker), the topic of conversation was the fox who came to lunch.
By the way, there really was a campfire outside, but it was propane and aluminum logs, so the slow cooker was just as effective and the contents tasted better.
